Nourish body and spirit with plant-based, home-crafted soups. Our vegetarian bowls combine whole grains, seasonal vegetables, legumes, and herbs, roasted, seasoned and simmered to draw their deep, rich character. Small batches made with love in my own Licensed, Inspected and Insured Domestic Kitchen, assure the highest quality products. I’m committed to using local, seasonal ingredients for sustainability, freshness and flavor.

RICH FLAVOR
Our plant-forward soups are built around bold, layered flavor. We start with seasonal vegetables, and fragrant herbs, then simmer them slowly to coax out deep, savory richness. Each spoonful balances warm comforting flavors, and vibrant aromatics, with textures ranging from silky bisques to satisfyingly rustic stews.
Don’t miss our sweet potato cornbread made with brown butter and turmeric honey. I roast the sweet potatoes until they begin to carmelize, then mash them to create a moist, sweet corncake with a little spice, and topped with crunchy, salty pepitas.
Best of all, it pairs well with each of my soups, and is a good keeper!
Meet the Owner
I’m a retired teacher and a lifelong artist born and raised in Portland, Oregon! My family is commited to a healthful lifestyle, and while raising our son, gardening and cooking meals from scratch has become an expression of creativity. As my family has moved toward a more plant-based diet, we’ve increasingly experimented with flavors, ingredients and techniques inspired by our travels and other culinary adventures. Soup craft has been a natural result of these explorations.
Born under the earth sign Capricorn, I am indeed a grounded person by nature. I have always been deeply connected to the natural world. My husband and son share the last name ‘slate’ (a symbol of endurance and protection). My son’s first name literally means ‘stone’ - a chip off the old block. And so, rock symbology has been a part of our family identity all along.
We have enjoyed collecting heart shaped rocks during our many outdoor adventures together, and have dreamed of running a heart rock cafe someday!
So in a way, this business venture is the fruition of a family dream.
